Marcella Louise (Creech) Hasty

Mrs. Marcella Louise Hasty, age 86 of Mt. Vernon, wife of Jearl, passed away Saturday, December 7. 2019 at her residence.

She was born on October 29, 1933 in Rockcastle County, the daughter of the late Ernest and Nadine Doan Creech.  She was of the Holiness faith, and had been employed at Parker Seal, Dresser, and Cowdens Manfacturing.  She found great enjoyment in crocheting and reading.  On December 31, 1949 she was united in marriage to Jearl Hasty and from that union came six children: Carol, Eddie, Michael, Gordon, Shannon and Connie. 

Those left to celebrate her life are: her husband of 69 years, Jearl Hasty, of Mt. Vernon, KY;  her children: Carol Shepherd of Crab Orchard, KY; Eddie (Janet) Hasty of Lancaster, KY; Michael (Brenda) Hasty of Lancaster, KY; Gordon Hasty of Lancaster, KY; Shannon (Carol) Hasty of Livingston, KY; and Connie Kincer of Mt. Vernon, KY. Her 20 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.  Her brother: Bill (Donna) Creech of Ohio. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Creech and grandson, infant Johnathon.

Visitation for Mrs. Marcella Hasty will be Monday, December 9, 2019,  from 6-9 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 2 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Chapel with Bros. Nathan Bennett and Danny Robbins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Maretburg Cemetery.
