Mrs. Mary Harper, age 92 of Brodhead, departed this life on Wednesday, December 25, 2024 at the Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Brodhead, Ky.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1932, in Spiro, Ky., a daughter of the late John Benton Albright and Mollie Viola Hamm Albright. She was a long-time resident of Brodhead and member of Brodhead Baptist Church, a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She found great joy in serving her church, cooking and visiting with family, the grandchildren and great grandchildren. On October 31, 1952, she was united in marriage to Everett Harper and from that union came three children, Judy, Everett and Scott.
Those left to celebrate Mrs. Mary’s life are her children: Judy Harris of Brodhead, Everett Harper (Debbie) of Brodhead, and Scott Harper (Tammy) of Mt. Vernon. Her grandchildren: Beth (Mike) Jones of Brodhead; Greg Harper (Casey) of Mt. Vernon; Tyler Harper of Lexington; Hailey (Dylan) Stewart of Mt. Vernon; Her great grandchildren: Lucas and Lindsey Jones, Jordan, Nash, Lee Harper and Bexley Stewart; Her sisters-in-law: Helen Albright and Marianne Albright. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides her husband, Everett Harper, she was preceded in death by brothers: Lloyd “Pooner”, D.G. “Alex”, John Jay, Everett, Paul David “P.D.” Albright; sisters: Faye White, Leon McClure, Edith Brown Nicely, Dawn Brock and Hazel Smiley. And son-in-law, Doug Harris.
