Melvin Edward Denny

Mr. Melvin Edward Denny, age 75 of Berea, KY, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at his residence.

Melvin was born November 9, 1945 in Broughtontown, KY to the late Newton and Lucy (Smith) Denney. He retired from the US Army and later retired from Hyster. He was a member of St. Sylvester Catholic Church and the American Legion. He loved to play cards, was an avid reader, a fan of John Wayne Westerns, and a proud family man. 

Those left to celebrate his life are his three daughters:  Nancy Jane Fetters of Livingston, KY, Stacy Jean Denny of Columbia, SC, Rebecca Sue Denny of Berea, KY; two grandchildren:  Kayla Elizabeth Clay, Zachary Edward Harrison Fetters and one sister:  Bonnie Watson of Broughtontown, KY.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife:  Jane Elizabeth Denny; three brothers:  Ben Denney, Wilburn Denney, John Denney; and three sisters:  Flonnie Mae Godbey, Nettie Trinkle, and Okie Faye Norris.

Visitation for Melvin will be Monday, December 7, 2020 from 11:00am until time for the funeral service at 1:00pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Burial will follow in the St. Sylvester Catholic Church Cemetery in Ottenheim, KY.
