Obituary

Michael Dawayne Doan, age 57, of Mt. Vernon, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2022, at his home.

Michael was born on January 8, 1965, a son of Vernon Doan and Charlotte Lawson. On May 28, 2005, he was united in holy matrimony to Melissa Milburn. He was a member of the Calloway Holiness Church; and spent his free time playing music, fishing, hunting mushrooms, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Those left to celebrate his life are his parents: Vernon and Charlotte Lawson Doan; his wife Melissa Milburn Doan, of Mt. Vernon, KY; his children: Michael Doan & Felicia, Lula Scarborough & Roy, and William Doan & Brittany all of Mt. Vernon, KY; his grandchildren: Alana, Michael, and Theodore Doan; brothers: Dennis Doan & Donna, of Mt. Vernon, KY, Dalmas Doan & Vickie, and Vernon Doan Jr. & Denise both of Livingston, KY; sisters: Tina Doan of Livingston, K, and Debbie Doan & Larry of Mt. Vernon, KY; as well as a host of many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by a child Samuel Joseph Doan; and his first wife Laura (Sissy) Doan.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, at 11am, at Sandhill Cemetery, with Phillip Doan officiating.
