Michael Bruce Houk age 49, of Somerset departed this world on January 8, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and lasting memories.
Michael Bruce was born to Bruce (Joyce) Houk and Jenny ( Gary Vickers).He worked as a truck driver for Capacity Trucking, where he navigated the roads with skill and dedication, providing for his family with unwavering commitment.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Crystal Lea Houk, their Children, Slade and Brooklyn Houk, Brody Brown, Brycedon Brown (special friend Kylie Hobdy), Christopher Shea Brown (special friend Karlie Blanton) who he loved dearly. His mother, Jenny (Gary) Vickers, father, Bruce (Joyce) Houk; Siblings: Kim (Darryl) Chasteen, Tina (Shawn) Clift, Tessa Vickers, Anita Moore, and Rhonda (Jeff) McClure- all of whom he held dear.
In addition to his immediate family, Michael is remembered by his nieces and nephews, Madelyn Freeman, Winry Chasteen, Emily Dooley, Blakely Harold, Cassondra Dooley, Jaidyn Chasteen, Cash Chasteen, Zachary Chasteen, Charlie Freeman and Amber Freeman. His extended family includes his beloved father and mother-in-law, William (Roxanna) Debord, who welcomed him with open arms.
Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Vernon (Lucille) Houk, and maternal grandparents, Cecil (Bessie) Kirby. He leaves behind a circle of special friends and colleagues who were an integral part of his life’s journey.
Michael loved fishing and hunting with his son and dear friends. In celebrating the life of Michael Bruce Houk, we must also pay tribute to one of his great passion- his unwavering love for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
