Mildred (Blanton) Hunt

Ms. Mildred (Blanton) Hunt, age 85, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY.

Mildred was born February 14, 1935 in Brodhead, KY to the late Carsel and Doxie Lorene Brock Blanton. She worked for three years at Brodhead High School and 31 years at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. She was a member of Faith Chapel Pentecostal Church, enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, singing, watching the Cats play, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Those left to celebrate her life are her four children:  Donna Lee Harley and husband John Paul of Richmond, KY, John Leo Hunt and wife Trish of Crab Orchard, KY, Jeffrey Carsel Hunt and wife Angela of Mt. Vernon, KY, Connie Sue Hunt of Mt. Vernon, KY; along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; three brothers:  Carsel Blanton Jr. and wife Linda of Mt. Vernon, KY, David Ray Blanton and wife Goldie of Brodhead, KY, Earl Phillip Blanton and wife Opal of Brodhead, KY; and five sisters:  Christeen Cash and husband Walter of Brodhead, KY, Lena Griffin of Dayton, OH, Viola Sebree of Brodhead, KY, Geneva Meenach and husband Bill of Maineville, OH, and Irene Watson of Frankfort, KY; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers:  Roy Lee Blanton, Paul Edward Blanton; and one sister:  Shirley Blanton Burton.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 11am until time for the funeral service at 1pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Jack Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Negro Creek Cemetery. Casket bearers are Eddie Blanton, Greg Browning, Jamie Burdette, Roy B. Cummins, Hal Hunt, and Phillip Payne. Honorary Casket Bearers are Dale Ann Bradley, Jerry Godsey, John P. Harley, Jonathan Hunt, and Ron Mosley.
