Norma (Asher) Floyd

Norma (Asher) Floyd, age 93, of Brodhead, KY, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Norma was born December 12, 1927 in Leslie County, KY to the late Beldon G. and Maultie (Langton) Asher. She worked at Parker Seal for 25 years, was a member of Pine Hill Holiness Church, enjoyed flowers, and gardening.

Those left to celebrate her life are her five children: Danny Price and wife Joann of Newman, GA, Joan Price Denny and husband Joe of Burgin, KY, Marilyn Douglas of Stanford, KY, Ricky Price and wife Zada of Waco, KY, Elaine Penn and husband Gary of Lexington, KY; grandchildren:  Shannon Ray Price, Dr. Susan Welch, Angela Norred and husband Jamie, Yvette Lee, Sommer Elaine Denny, Ramey Allen Douglas, April Price Southerland and husband Allen, Lt. Gov. Jacqueline Coleman and husband Chris O’Bryan, Jack L. Coleman III and wife Christina; great-grandchildren:  Airman First Class Tyler Norred, Abbygail Norred, Oakley Lee, Olivia Lee, Jack Hill, Joseph Hill, Evelynne Coleman-O’Bryan, Jack Brayson Coleman, Carson Trace Coleman, Hagyn Kadience Coleman, Jackalinne Holt Stamper and husband Jackson, William Jackson Holt, Jr.; great-great grandson: Zaylen Brent; two brothers:  Raymond Asher and wife Mary Ruth of Crab Orchard, KY, Beldon Asher and wife Helen of New Salisbury, IN; and one sister:  Cathy Staley of Pine Knot, KY.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband:  Veston Truman Floyd; and siblings:  Helen Wilson, Callie Bishop, Wesley Asher, Marion Byrd, Waldo Asher, Lois Asher, and Etta Brandonburg.

Visitation for Norma will be Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 11am until time for funeral services at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bill Gooch officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
