Peggy (Jewell) Burton

Peggy Burton, age 70, of Orlando, Ky. departed this life Thursday, February 6th, 2025, at her residence in Orlando.

She was born on November 28th, 1954, in Clay Co, Ky., a daughter of the late James and Sudie Smith Jewell. On January 8th, 1988, she married John Burton and from that union came three children: Jacqueline, Vicie, and Jamie. She was a member of Cross Point Missions Church. Peggy enjoyed watching crime drama shows on T.V. but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband: John Burton, her children: Jacqueline Raider (Billy) of Clay Co, Vircie Reed of Clay Co, Jamie Reed of Georgetown, seven grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, her brothers: Johnny, James, and Ralph Jewell.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Scott Smith, Tommy Jewell, and one sister: Myrtle Philpot.

Visitation for Peggy will be Saturday, February 8th, 2025, from 12-1pm at Owens Chapel, funeral service starting at 1pm with Bishop Matt Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Red Hill Cemetery.
