Proctor Brock, age 93 of Copper Creek passed away Thursday, September 26 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Proctor was born October 23, 1930, at Forrester’s Creek, Harlan County, Kentucky to his loving parents, Mose Bradley Brock and Verla Mae Brummett Brock. On June 15, 1957, he married his wife of 47 Years Opal June Jones Brock.
Those left to celebrate his life are his children; Proctor Dale Brock, Roger (Tammy) Brock and Judy (Ralph) Baker, Grandchildren Jordan Tyler Brock and Kaylee Alexis June Brock all of Crab Orchard, and Ivy Singleton of Livingston he loved as a daughter. Three sisters and two brothers; Evelyn Hilton Abbott of Berea; Francene Brock Ledford of Crab Orchard; Lavena Faye (Gary) Gregory of Indianapolis, IN; Mose Brock of Kings Mountain; Dallas (Ruby) Brock of Copper Creek.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Opal Jones Brock, his daughters Benita Faye and Renita Kay Brock, Brother Virgil Lee Brock, infant sisters Matilda and Corine Brock. Brother- in- laws Garfield Hilton, John Ledford, Carl Abbott, Sister-in-law Naomi Brock. Nephews; James Avery Ledford, Bill Sulfridge and Herbert Brenda.
Proctor was a veteran of the Army’s 101st Airborne stationed in Germany. Proctor loved his family and farmed endless long days and endured many difficult years to provide for his family and pay for his farm. He loved the land and was a successful lifelong farmer. He loved to talk with friends and neighbors. He never met a stranger. He was generous with what he had and allowed many to hunt, fish and camp on his farm. The greatest and most important thing he did in his life was ask Jesus to save him.
