Obituary

Mrs. Retha (Falin) Thompson, age 70, of Nashville, TN, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Health Center at Richland Place in Nashville, TN.

Retha was born July 22, 1949 in Berea, KY to the late Albert V. and Bethel (Cummins) Falin.  She married Glenn Thompson on June 2, 1967, and from that union came one son:  Scott.  She worked at Parker Seals for 34 years, was a member of Rutherford County Baptist Church, enjoyed flowers, decorating inside her house, reading, and was an active member of Blankets of Love and food ministry at her church. 

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband:  Glenn Thompson; son:  Gregory Scott (Jenifer) Thompson of Smyrna, TN; two grandchildren:  Maya Thompson, Cheyenne (Jason) Friesen of LaVergne, TN; three sisters:  Alma (Bobby) Loudermilk of Brodhead, KY, Dianna (Don) Bradley of Mt. Vernon, KY, Gail (late Larry) Burdette of Mt. Vernon, KY; one brother-in-law: David Thompson; two nieces:  Dana McKinney, Tara Thompson Carter; seven nephews:  Mark Loudermilk, Ryan Loudermilk, Dwayne Burdette, Chad Burdette, Jon Burdette, Josh Thompson and Kevin Bradley; as well as other family, friends, and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant brother:  Carl Falin.

Visitation for Retha will be Friday, July 10, 2020 from 6-9pm at Bible Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 1pm at Bible Baptist Church with Bros. Paul Chisgar, Chad Burdette, and Jon Burdette officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hiatt Cemetery.  Casket bearers will be:  Chad, Jon, Kevin, Dwayne, Josh, Mark, and Ryan. Honorary casket bearers are Dana and Tara.

Donations may be made in Retha’s name to the Rutherford County Baptist Church’s Building Fund at 5742 Seminary Road, Smyrna, Tennessee 37167
