Richard Harold Owens

Mr. Richard Harold Owens 78 of Brodhead, KY passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon, KY.

Richard was born March 29, 1944, in Rockcastle County to the late Delmas and Ethel (Lawrence) Owens. He was a Vietnam Veteran, was a member of Pinehill Holiness Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, building things, spending time with his family and friends and going to church.

He was a loving husband of 49 years to Doris Jean Owens and a loving father to his daughter:  Tracy Lynn Gutenson and her husband, Mark, of Ottenhiem, KY.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings:  Chester Owens, William “Bill” Owens, Marion Thomas Owens, and Elizbeth Brumett.

Visitation for Richard will be Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 23, 2023, at 1pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bros. Kenny Collins and Scott Gaines officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery. Casket bearers are Mark Gutenson, Mark Brumett, Richard Brumett, Wendell Lawrence, Shannon Owens, and Johnny Ray Lunsford.
