Rita F (Stewart) Brown

OBITUARY NOTICE:

Rita Faye Brown, age 71, of Orlando, Ky.  departed this life on Monday, November 17th, 2025, at Rockcastle Hospital. Rita was born on August 19th, 1954, a daughter of the late Henry Lee and Velma Chestnut Stewart. On August 19th, 1970, she married Merville Brown, and they enjoyed 51 years together prior to his passing in 2021. From that union came four children: Melony, Merrill, Amy, and Merita.

Rita was of the Baptist faith. She was a homemaker, and she enjoyed working in flowers, cooking, riding four wheelers, and of course spending time with family and friends.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children; Melony Wynn (Brian) of Orlando, Merrill Brown of Mt Vernon, Amy Philbeck (Eric) of Mt Vernon, Merita Medley (Jamie) of Somerset, her grandchildren; Jason and Jonathon Raider, Aaron Brown (Cheyanne), Austin Brown, Christopher Philbeck, Hunter Medley (Hannah), Hayden Medley, her great grandchildren; Lincoln Kade Raider, Willis Keith Brown, Tristan Wade Brown, Tilly Irene Brown, sisters; Linda Lamb of Richmond, Lisa Robbins (Gary) of Sand Springs, Millie Robbins (Jerry) of Sand Springs, Betty Hensley (Jack) of Orlando, Elsie Smith (Lafey) of Sand Springs, her brother: Henry Edward Stewart.

Besides her parents Rita was preceded in death by her husband: Merville Brown, her sisters; Reva Roberts, Imogene Reed.

Visitation for Rita will be Thursday, November 20th, 2025, at Flat Rock Baptist Church from 6-9pm. Funeral service will be Friday, November 21st, 2025, at Flat Rock Baptist Church at 1pm with Bro. Jason Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Briarfield Cemetery.

Casket bearers; Jason and Jonathon Raider, Aaron and Austin Brown, Hayden and Jamie Medley, Eric Philbeck, Brian Wynn. Honorary casket bearers; Sgt. Hunter Medley.
