Robert Ray O'Rear

Robert Ray O’Rear, age 62, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, as the result of a tragic car accident.

Robert was born on June 6, 1960, in Grand Rapids, MI, a son of Nancy Ann (Kellogg) O’Rear and the late Robert F. O’Rear. He was united in holy matrimony to Jennifer Peterson on March 4, 2012. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid handyman.

Those left to celebrate his life are his mother: Nancy Ann O’Rear; his wife: Jennifer Peterson of Mt. Vernon, KY; four children: Scott Beagle of MI, Dawn Beagle & Norman of WV, Garrett Manning & Jessica of MI, and John O’Rear of Mt. Vernon, KY; nine grandchildren; two brothers: Larry O’Rear & Kathy of Petersburg, AK, and Kenneth O’Rear & Daniel of MI; three sisters: Tammy Noel & Mark, Kelly Machiele & Wilson, and Debby Harvey & Tom of MI; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Services for Robert will be held at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals on Monday, August 29, 2022, beginning with the visitation at 12pm, until the time of the funeral service at 2pm with Shannon Franklin officiating.
