Ruby "Naomi" Brock Obituary

Ruby “Naomi” Brock, age 87 of Kings Mountain, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

She was born on October 23, 1936, in Ashwood, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Willie James and Annie Estelle Shannon Branham. She was a member of Church of God and attended Walltown Christian Church.  She was a dedicated church member who loved going to church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Childrens Church, and was a member of the Ladies Willing Workers, and DAV Auxillary.  She was devoted to her children and grandchildren.  People often say she was the nicest person they ever met.  A minister said, “When I’m preaching, I’ll remember when Sister Brock taught this in Sunday School”.

On October 2, 1954, she was united in marriage to Mose M. Brock, Sr. in Sumter, South Carolina and they enjoyed 69 years together.

Those left to celebrate her life are her husband, Mose Brock.  Her children: Jacqueline R. Proctor, Mose (Kinny) Brock (Natalie), and Stephen Derek Brock. Her grandchildren: Jeremy Brock, Heather (Tony) Fleming, Tracy (Charles) Phillips, Teri (Matt) Tikunoff, Haleigh Brock, Paige Brock and Mahala Brock. Her great grandchildren: Chelsea (Zack) Gard, Ashley Brock, Dakota Fleming, Maggie Phillips, Robbie Phillips, and Luke Tikunoff.  Her great great grandchild: Luke Gard.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Estelle Baker; Thelma Hardin; Robert (Buck) Branham; Harvey Branham, Louise Gambrell; Mae Williams and Paul Branham.

Visitation for Naomi Brock will be Thurs. July 11, 2024, from 11am-1pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals, with funeral services following at 1pm with Bro. Lynville Hatter and Bro. Ralph Baker officiating.  Burial will follow in Negro Creek Cemetery.

Donation/contributions in Naomi’s memory may be made to Walltown Christian Church or St. Jude’s Hospital.
