Ruth (Stephens) Hasty

Mrs. Ruth (Stephens ) Hasty, age 86 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. passed away
Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

She was born on June 11, 1937 in Mt. Vernon. Ky; a daughter of the late Lewis and Thelma Brown Stephens. She was a member of the Christian Church, she found great joy in puzzle books, dressing up, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren, and family.

On June 25, 1955 she was united in marriage to Raymond Hasty and they enjoyed  67 years together prior to his passing April 26, 2022.

Those left to celebrate her life is her children, Ricky Hasty (Georgette Jenkins)  of Mt. Vernon, Ky; Vickie Thomas of Mt. Vernon, Ky; and Rodney Hasty (Eva Payne)  of Mt. Vernon, Ky.  Her grandchildren: Natasha (Kevin) Hensley, Ashley (Nick) Thomas, Reanna (Ed) Pelfrey, Amber (Daniel) Legg and Isaiah Thomas. Her great grandchildren: Ben & Brody Thomas, Taelor Cummins and Kaughner Hensley.  Her great-great grandchild: Grant Cummins. Many nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul and Robert S. Fletcher; sisters: Bernice Arnold, Lillian Lawson and Glenna Sue Brooks.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 28, 2024 from 12Noon-3PM at Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.  Funeral services will follow at 3PM with Bro. Shannon Franklin officiating.  Burial in Freedom Cemetery.
