Obituary notice:
Clay Stanton Hayes, age 68, of Mt Vernon, KY, departed this life Thursday, April 24th, 2025, at his home in Mt Vernon, KY.
He was born August 27th, 1956, in Mt Vernon, a son of the late Norman and Mary Monk Hayes. He worked hanging drywall and as a musician. Stanton was of the Christian faith, and he was a member of the” Wild River Band”. He enjoyed playing music, being with family and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grand babies.
He is survived by his wife; Glenna Hayes (Vaughn), his children; Courtney Boreing (Phillip) of Mt Vernon, Michael Hayes (Misti) of Annville, Krissy Richmond Phillips of Richmond, his grandchildren; Austin (Emily), Peyton, Ethan Saylor, Keelie Bowling, Ryder and Kova Boreing, Emmie and Alexie Hayes, Robby and Molly Carosello, one great grandchild: Hudson Saylor, his sisters; Carol (Sam) Alcorn, Betty (Steve) Weaver, as well as a host of cousins, nephews/nieces, friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation for Stanton will be on Monday, April 28th, 2025, at Owens Chapel from 10am to 2pm. Funeral service will begin at 2pm with Bro. Mike McFerron officiating. Burial will follow in Meret Cemetery.
