Thomas "Tommy" Harrison Burdette

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Harrison Burdette, age 86 of Brodhead, husband of Libby passed away Monday, October 21, 2019 at his  residence.

Tommy was born on May 2, 1933 to the late Jim and Rebecca York Burdette.  He married Libby Wilcox Gibbs on December 17, 1983.  He was a farmer, a member of the Copper Creek Missionary Baptist Church, enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, and his farm. 

Those left to celebrate his life are:  his wife of 35 years, Libby Burdette; one son:  Jeffrey T. (Twila) Burdette of Mt. Vernon, KY; two daughters:  Jeletta (Eric) Johnson of Lexington, KY, Rebecca (Brandon) Powell of Richmond, KY; two step-sons:  David (Tina) Gibbs of Mt. Vernon, KY, Richard Gibbs of Mt. Vernon, KY; grandchildren:  Thomas and Zoe Burdette, Presley and Pate Johnson, Kleine, Kelsey, and Nicholas Powell, Dalton and Izak Gibbs; one brother:  Amos (Pearl) Burdette of Mt. Vernon, KY; and one sister:  Wanda Burton of Brodhead, KY. 

Besides his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by five brothers:  Ullis, Walter, L.C., Arvil, and Owen Burdette; and two sisters:  Margie Cummins and Ada Coffey. 

Visitation for Mr. Tommy Burdette will be Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 6-9 pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals and Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 10 am – 1 pm at the Brindle Ridge Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1 pm at the Brindle Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Ron Roberts and Ken Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Green Fish Hill Cemetery.
