Virginia (Sutton) Bray Meece

Mrs. Virginia Sutton Bray Meece, age 95, of Mt. Vernon, KY, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019, at the Terrace Nursing and Rehab Facility in Berea, KY.

Virginia was born February, 16, 1924, in Freetown, IN, to the late Raymond and Lula Sutton.  She managed WRVK Radio Station for 50 years, and was a performer on the Renfro Valley Barn Dance and Sunday Morning Gathering. She was an active member of First Christian Church in Mt. Vernon, KY, enjoyed weaving, and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children:  Susan Coffey of Mt. Vernon, KY, and Mark Bray of Mt. Vernon, KY; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and one sister:  Dorothy (Gene) Mobley of Columbus, IN.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband:  Phyllis Bray, her second husband:  O.C. Meece; one daughter:  Jenney Lee Bray, one infant son:  Phillip John Bray; two grandchildren; and two brothers:  Walter and Billy Sutton.

A graveside service will take place Friday, December 20, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Elmwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, KY with Bro. Bruce Ross officiating.
