Virginia Dejardins

Mrs. Virginia Dejardins, age 97, departed this life Friday, March 1, 2024 at Landmark Rehabilitation Facility in Danville. Ky.

She was born on March 18, 1926 in Detroit Michigan, the  daughter of the late Fred and Elizabeth McMullen.  She was  member of Fairview Church of Christ.  She found great joy in reading, puzzles, and bird watching. She was employed for 35 years at Rate Clerkin Truck Co. in Detroit, Michigan.

 On October 16, 1976 she was united in marriage to the late  Leonard Dejardins, and they enjoyed  42 years together prior to his passing in 2018.

Those left to celebrate her life are her grandchildren: Valerie McCartney of Toledo, Ohio; Elizabeth Caudill (Larry) of Casey Co., Ky.; and Thomas Vuocolo of North Carolina.  Her great grandchildren: Chelsea Matthews, Tabitha Caudill, Carolyn McCartney and Dominic Vuocolo.  As well as a host of friends and neighbors.  Her special care giver: Jeannia Elder.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Paul and Wayne Matthews; and  her brother: Billie McMullen.

Private graveside services for Mrs. Virginia Dejardins will be conducted Monday, March 4, 2024 at 11AM at Fairview Church of Christ Cemetery, Willailla, Ky. with Bro. Curt Herrington officiating.
