Wanda Iora (Burton) Lunceford

Wanda Iora Lunceford, age 79 of Brodhead, KY passed away Friday, January 20, 2023, at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. 

Wanda was born January 6, 1944, in Brodhead, KY to the late Arthur and Sadie Elizabeth (Ross) Burton. She was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and enjoyed: crocheting, puzzles, singing, flowers, gardening, drawing, and painting. She married Gilbert Lunceford on August 9, 1959, and enjoyed 50 years together before his passing in 2009.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children:  David Wayne Lunceford of Brodhead, KY, and Melissa Rose Mendoza of Oneida, KY; three grandchildren:  Tina Marie Galleous, Michael Andrew Mendoza, and David Wayne Lunceford, Jr.; and great-grandchildren; two brothers: Glen Burton (Ruth) of Brodhead, KY, and Denver Burton (Linda) of Brodhead, KY; one sister:  Nevel Hacker (Jimmy) of Crab Orchard, KY; as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years:  Gilbert Lunceford; and one brother:  Johnny Burton.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 12pm until time for the memorial service at 2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Dan Gutenson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Piney Grove Cemetery fund or to the funeral home for funeral expenses.
