Mr. Wilburn Lee Norton, age 76 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Rockcastle Health and Rehabilitation Facility in Brodhead, Ky.
He was born on January 1, 1947, in Sand Springs, Ky., a son of the late Woodrow Walker Norton and Ella Mae (Kirby) Norton. He was a member of Clays Mill Baptist Church, being baptized by Bro. Albert G. Griffin. Wilburn was a well-known Lexington Hairdresser for 50+ years. He found great joy in gardening/flowers, traveling, was an avid UK fan, loved animals, particularly cats and ducks, loved interior design. He was a speaker and motivator. On April 18, 1993, he was united in marriage to Diedre Collinsworth, and they enjoyed 29 years together prior to his passing.
Wilburn Lee Norton won the Evening competition for state of Ky. hair contest at Phoenix Hotel in Lexington. He attended Eastern School of Hair Design, winning the schools design awards.
Those left to celebrate his life are his wife Diedre Norton of Mt. Vernon, Ky.; Daughter-Naomi Carroll; Sons-Michael Collinsworth (Tonya) and Anthony Cummins (Jessi). Grandchildren: Chase and Makenzie Carroll; Jacob and Caleb Collinsworth; Charlie Anna Knox; and Adeline and Garrett Cummins. Brother-Wayne Norton (Aline); Sister- Vivian Price. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation for Wilburn Lee Norton will be Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, from 12 Noon until time for Funeral Service at 1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Joe Spivey officiating. Burial will follow in the Hiatt Cemetery at Renfro Valley, Ky. Casket bearers will be Michael, Jacob, and Caleb Collinsworth, Anthony Cummins, Chase Carrol, and Chris Knox. Honorary casket bearers are members of the program.
