Willene Burton

Willene Cash Burton 92 passed away peacefully while asleep at her home in Ottawa, Ky Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Willene, as she was known, was born December 3, 1931, to Homer and Cordia Singleton Cash. She was a lifelong resident of the Ottawa Community and a lifelong member of Ottawa Baptist Church. She was a housewife and farmer working beside her husband Otis “Pete” Burton whom she married on January 15, 1949. He preceded her in death on January 19, 1998. She was an excellent cook and was known in the community for her chocolate and coconut crème pies. She spent her entire life working and providing for her family. In her later years she worked for the Cumberland Valley Health Department. Willene was a devout Christian, loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She thought of others before herself. Willene is survived by three children: Judy (Doyle) Wilson, Terry (Cindy) Burton and Debbie Johnson. Eight grandchildren; Travis (Sheri) Wilson, Todd (Mackielee) Wilson, Heather (James) McMillin, Tara (Matthew) Brown, Matthew (Crystal) Bustle, Daniel (Elizabeth) Bustle, Courtney (Aaron) Mills, Allie (Will) Padgett. Twelve great grandchildren; Lyla and Caraline McMillin, Jaxon, Adalyn and Alaina Bustle, Carlee and Carson Bustle Paisley, Mia and Emmett Mills, Cooper Brown, and Tycen Wilson. A sister Joann Brown, brothers Paul (Debbie) Cash and Carlos (Madonna) Cash. Sister-in-law Reba Cash. Many neices, nephews and cousins were all very special to her. Other than her parents and husband she was also proceeded in death by a granddaughter Carrie Frances Burton, brothers Gaffer and Walter Cash, a sister Maxine Daugherty, an infant sister Phyllis Judy Cash and son in law Brian Johnson, a sister-in-law Juanita Cash and brothers in law Junior Daugherty and Clinton Brown.
