William Leroy Ashton

William Leroy Ashton, age 70 of Mt. Vernon, Ky. departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Baptist Health in Richmond, Ky. He was born on September 21, 1954 in Anderson, Indiana, a son of the late Mason Herbert Ashton and Mary Martha Poore Williams. He was a member of the Church of Nazarene and found great joy in riding motorcycles, loved farming, working on old tractors , driving trucks and spending time with family. On July 1st, 1973 he was united in marriage to Joyce Mitchell Ashton and they enjoyed 52 years together. Those left to celebrate his life are his wife, Joyce Ashton of Mt. Vernon, Ky; his children: Amanda Lucas (Brad) of Butlerville, Indiana; and Andrew Jason Ashton (Crystal) of Shelbyville, Ky. His grandchildren: Kody Lucas, Andrew Ashton and Addison Ashton;his brothers: Kieth Ashton (Belinda) of Lancaster, Indiana; and Ronnie Ashton of Butlerville, Indiana; his sister: Diana Bott (Ronnie) of North Vernon, Indiana. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by grandchildren, infant Annabelle Faith Lucas; siblings: Mary Wright and Jamie Ashton; nephew, Oliver and Benny Hamel; Niece, Melissa Hansel. Visitation for Mr. William Ashton Ashton will be Wednesday, July 9. 2025 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals from 11A till time of Funeral at 1PM, with Warren Lucas officiating. Burial will follow in Maret Cemetery at Renfro Valley, Ky.
