Clyde D Long

Mr. Clyde D. Long, age 97 of Brodhead, departed this life on December 31st, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond, KY surrounded by family. He was born on July 9th, 1920 to the late Earl & Anna (Layton) Long in Lancaster, KY. On February 27th, 1940 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Iona (Locker) Long and from that union came Judith. In December of 1943, Clyde joined the United States Army as a Private First Class where he proudly served his country. He had worked for the Bluegrass Army Depot for 20 years in Richmond KY. Clyde was a member of the Stanford Church of Christ and took great joy in fishing, farming and attending the local flea market.

Those left to celebrate his life are: his daughter Judith (Charles) Sherrow of Brodhead, KY; his grandsons Matthew (Gina) & Nichloas (Shevonda) Sherrow; his great grandchildren Reese, Riley, Alia & Kaiulani Sherrow; his sister Margaret Ray of Stanford, KY; his caregivers Laverene Riddle, Barbara Brock & Ruby Brock; as well as many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services for Clyde will be held 2PM on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2017 at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Louie Hammons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11AM until the funeral hour. Burial will follow in the Lancaster Cemetery.

Casket Bearers will be his grandsons and his great grandchildren.
