Evelyn Rowlett

Mrs. Lue Evelyn (Halcomb) Rowlett, age 86, passed away Tuesday evening May 10th, 2017 at the Rockcastle Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 24th, 1930 in Brodhead, KY., to Daniel Vincent Halcomb and Mamie Alice (Moore) Halcomb. She was a lifelong Christian. She loved medicine and to care for others. She realized both in her vocation as a nursing assistant and medication aid.   

She is survived by four children: Joan (Burke) Hammons and husband David of Crab Orchard, KY., Jerry Burke and wife Janet of Mt. Vernon, KY., Karen (Burke) Durham and husband Charlie of Louisville, KY., Pam (Burke) Childress of Murfreesboro, TN.; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 10 step-great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; siblings: Eugene Halcomb and wife Sue of Brodhead, KY., and Herbert Halcomb and friend Kathleen.

Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents; first husband Edwin Burke and second husband Howard Rowlett; three grandchildren; a daughter-in-law; a son-in-law; siblings: Henry Halcomb, Stella Burke, Raymond Halcomb, Vivian Bishop and Catherine Adams.

Visitation for Mrs. Rowlett will be held Saturday, May 13th, 2017 from 10-2pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Funeral Services being conducted at 2pm with Bro. Randy McPheron officiating. Burial will follow in Piney Grove Cemetery.
