Mrs. Gladys Roberts, age 89 of Brodhead, Ky., passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016 at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.
She was born on June 16, 1927 in Brodhead, Ky., a daughter of the late Ernest and Lauviece Holman Clark. She was a member of Brodhead Baptist Church and found great joy in sewing and quilting. She was a homemaker who worked at Cowden Manufacturing and Department store in Cincinnati, Ohio. She loved the land and had been a farmer for years. On May 19, 1946 she was united in matrimony to Nathaniel Roberts, who predeceased her in death, and from that union came two sons, Sammy and Teddy.
Those left to celebrate her life are her son: Teddy Roberts of Brodhead, Ky. Her grandchildren: Jessica, Theresa, Elizabeth, Katherine, Michael and Angela. Her sister: Ann (Cecil) Hampton of Renfro Valley, Ky; As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son: Sammy Roberts and a brother: Earl Clark.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016 from 10AM until the Funeral Service at 2PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Ralph Baker and Luther Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery.
