Mr. Gary Burgess Doan, age 65 of Mt. Vernon, KY. departed this life on August 20, 2015.
Gary was born on August 20, 1950 in Lincoln County, KY. a son of the late Doyle Burgess Doan and Violet Creech Begley, he had been a Dresser Manufacturing employee. Gary was of the Baptist faith, and found great joy in gardening, playing horseshoes, fishing, hunting and playing cards with his friends.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother: Violet Begley of Richmond, his children: Michelle Hill of Richmond, KY.; Chadwick (Rachel) Doan of Copper Creek, KY.; Rebecca (Robert) Miller of Mt. Vernon, KY.; Kelli (Nathan) Weaver of Jackson County, KY.; and Amanda Doan of Somerset, KY. his grandchildren: Dalton Hill, Crystal McGuire, Dillon Doan, Robbie, Kaitlyn and Jonathan Miller, Thomas and Joseph Cain, his great grandchildren: Nevaeh and Bryson Miller, brothers: Ted (Laura) Begley of Lexington KY.; and Jim Morgan of Corbin, KY.; a special friend: Phyllis Lambdin; as well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 1PM in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery with Bro. William Robert Miller officiating.
