Myrtle Elizabeth Adams

Myrtle Elizabeth Adams, 80, of Brodhead, died Monday January 2, 2017, at Rockcastle County Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Brodhead, KY., on April 16th, 1936, the daughter of the late Everett and Grace Burton and fostered by the late Ard and Viola Cox. She was a retired factory worker and devoted 39 ½ years to the Parker Seal Company. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, setting on her front porch, tending to flowers and gardening, and yard sales and flea markets. She was a member of Brodhead Baptist Church and had an unwavering faith in her Heavenly Father. She was united in marriage to Earl Pennington Adams on December 11th, 1965, and from that union came two children: Vicky Adams Farthing and Lee Earl (Teresa) Adams.

She is survived by both of her children; grandchildren include, Kelly Farthing Ponder, Brandon Campbell, Krystal Farthing Powell, Zachary Adams, Danielle Adams Miller, and Destiny Osborne; great grandchildren include, Jaylon Ponder, Kayleigh and Addison Miller, Evan Powell, and Braedon, Brody, and Blaine Campbell; brothers Leroy (Nancy) Burton, Henry (Polly) Burton, and Leman (Dee) Burton; sisters Brenda Montgomery; Susan (Bill) Swinney, Lorene (Carl) Miller Julie Burton; as well as many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.  

She was preceded in death by both sets of parents; her loving husband of 47 years, Earl P. Adams; four brothers Cecil Cox, Harold, James David, and Olan Burton; and three sisters Loretta Burton Hacker, Anna Mae Burton Lovett, and Joyce Burton Payne.

Visitation for Mrs. Adams will be held Thursday, January 5th, 2017, from 6pm until 9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday January 6th, 2017, at 1pm at the funeral home with Bros. Ralph Baker & Toby Mullins officiating. Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
