Paul Eugene Hansel

Mr. Paul Eugene Hansel, 76, husband of Virginia, passed away Thursday, May 18th, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Hospital with family by his side. He was born on March 3rd, 1941 to the late William Renis and Inez (McClure) Hansel in Pine Hill, KY. On September 30th, 1962 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Virginia Brown and from that union came two children: Anthony and Tammy. He was a retired worker of Ready Mix, a member of the Providence Church of Christ and he enjoyed horseback riding, camping, farming & mowing.

Those left to celebrate Paul’s life are: his wife of 54 years, Virginia Hansel; his children Anthony Alan (Cynthia) Hansel of Berea, KY., and Tammy Lee (Marc) Hopkins of London, KY.; his grandchildren Justin Wade (Lauren) Hopkins of London, KY., Jordan Paul (Danielle) Hopkins of London, KY., Kenneth Ray Hansel of Leesville, LA., and Casey Allen Hansel of Leesville, LA.; his great grandchildren Elizabeth Strum, Tracey Hansel, Connor Hansel, Eleanor Rose Hopkins; his three step-grandchildren; his six step-great grandchildren; his brothers Bobby Lee (Bessie) Hansel of Somerset, KY., Gary Ray (Sherri) Hansel of Mt. Vernon, KY., and Larry Benton (Jerri) Hansel of Mt. Vernon, KY.; his sister Joyce Ann (Don) Pott of Virginia; his two special sister-in-law’s Kathee Staton & Christine Taylor; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Kenneth Hansel.

Visitation for Paul will be held on Friday, May 19th, 2017 from 6-9pm at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.

Another visitation will be held from 11AM-2PMon Saturday, May 20th, 2017 at the Providence Church of Christ with funeral services being conducted at 2PM with Danny McKibben officiating. Burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery.

Casket Bearers will be: Justin Hopkins, Jordan Hopkins, Kenneth Hansel, Casey Hansel,Chris Hansel & Steve Hansel.

Honorary Casket Bearers are: Jason Hansel, Bryan Hansel, Troy Taylor, Jeff Taylor, Billy Long & Bobby Lawrence.
