Mrs. Dorothy (Evans) Sparrow, age 77 of Memphis, Tennessee, widow of David, passed away Thursday, July 30th, 2015 in Memphis.
She was born on September 29, 1937, in Brodhead, Ky. a daughter of the late Clayton and Elizabeth Lawrence Evans. She was a member of Highland Heights Methodist Church and she found great joy in U.K. basketball and mowing her lawn. She had been employed as a tax examiner with the Internal Revenue. On November 6, 1959 she was united in marriage to David Sparrow , and from that union came a daughter, Sylvia Elizabeth.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sylvia Elizabeth Sparrow of Memphis, TN; her sisters: Betty McWhorter of Somerset, Ky. and Barbara (Orion) Bell of Louisville, Ky; as well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, David, and a brother, Ray Evans of Louisville, Ky.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, August 3, 2015 at 1PM at Oakhill Cemetery with Rev. Orion Bell officiating.
