Mrs. Jenny Lou Hamm Wasson, age 73, of Nancy, Ky., and formerly of Crab Orchard, Ky. passed away Sunday, July 24th, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 31, 1943 in Lexington, Ky. a daughter of the late Dalmas Hopper Hamm and Dora Stacy Hamm. She was a member of Ottawa Baptist Church and Eastern Star where she served as Treasurer for many years. She found great joy in photography, gardening and being a homemaker. On June 10, 1972 she was united in holy matrimony to Marvin Wasson, and from that union came: Marlene, Zaundra, Nancy, Martha, Annitta, Shamo, Shawn, and Joe.
Those left to celebrate her life are: her husband of forty three years, Marvin Wasson of Nancy, Ky; her children: Marlene Wasson of Jabez, Ky; Zaundra Swanson of Jabez, Ky; Nancy Wasson of Clay City, Ky; Martha (Barry) Morton of Andersonville, Tenn.; Annitta Lykins of Franklin, Ohio; Shamo (James) Creech of Stanton, Ky; Shawn (Lesley) Hudgel of Peebles, Ohio; Joe Sparks of Nada, Ky; and granddaughter she raised as her own: Johnna Kennon of Clay City, Ky; her twenty four grandchildren; her thirty nine great grandchildren; her three great-great grandchildren; her sister: Lillian Joyce Hamm of Lexington, Ky; her uncle: Alonzo (Anna May) Hamm of Brodhead, Ky; and her nephew: David Wayne Hamm of Lexington, Ky.; As well as a host of nieces/nephews, friends and neighbors.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Dalmas Wayne Hamm; infant sister: Ruth Mae Hamm; and three infant great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. Jenny Wasson will be Wed. July 27, 2016 from 6-9PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals. Funeral services will be conducted Thurs. July 28, 2016 at 1PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals burial will follow in the Ottawa Cemetery.
